Le secteur des transports contribue à l'économie camerounaise et permet de relier les centres de production des marchandises ou d'extraction aux centres de commercialisation, de consommation, ou de transformation. Mais il dépend fortement des produits pétroliers qui sont en baisse de production au fil des années avec d'abord l'avènement de la Covid-19, suivi de la crise russo-ukrainienne. Ainsi, des énergies alternatives doivent être envisagées pour soutenir ce secteur. Dans le monde, les nouvelles énergies en matière de carburant sont principalement le gaz naturel et l'électricité. Dans un contexte de faisabilité, la mieux adaptée pour le Cameroun est le gaz naturel : le Cameroun dispose en effet d'énormes quantités de réserves de gaz naturel prouvé, possède une unité de production de gaz naturel, de là le fait qu'on peut aisément utiliser le gaz naturel comme carburant. Malgré le coût élevé d'acquisition des véhicules fonctionnant au GNV, le gaz est le plus rentable, sur le plan économique comme environnemental, à long terme en particulier.

Voices and Beyond is a series of articles and personal testimonies written by Loga Virahsawmy. The articles have been published in the Mauritian media as well as the media in the SADC (Southern African Development Community) while the personal testimonies have been published in the I Stories series of Gender Links. The articles and stories go beyond gender issues. Through these articles and personal testimonies Loga Virahsawmy gives a voice to the voiceless: survivors, vulnerable women, invisible women and women who have made a contribution to society. The articles have put a spotlight on gender inequalities, gender justice and gender based violence. Telling their personal stories or I Stories have given these women a chance to heal themselves and reconstruct their lives.
